Hey folks, I’m Kate!

My mission: To live an adventurous and authentic life. To impact the environment minimally wherever possible, through choosing an ethical and mindful lifestyle and finally, to inspire others along the way!

I’m Kate, a 32 year old British gal who was first bitten by the travel bug back in 2011. Since then, I have interrailed around Europe, backpacked across Asia, lived remotely Down Under for the best part of two years and road tripped around Iceland in some less than desirable weather conditions!

It was in Tasmania that I first discovered my affinity with the great outdoors, hiking 1/3 of the states 60 Great Short Walks in just a few months, including the Three Capes Track.

This inevitably lead me to my next BIG plan; to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in 2019! I managed to complete over 1000 miles of the trail, but after 4 months my hike was cut short. You can read all about my time on the Appalachian Trail here.

I had big plans for 2020. Unfortunately Coronavirus has stopped me, and the rest of the world in its tracks for the time being. Saying that, I did manage to escape to Scotland for a few weeks and drive the North Coast 500 – an unforgettable experience!

Feel free to connect with me on Instagram. I regularly update my stories and grid with hiking, travel and adventure content, as well as personal snippets from my day-to-day life.

Hi, Kate. Thanks for sharing your adventures via your blog. I’ve also enjoyed your lovely pictures on FB. It’s wonderful to see a young woman like you taking advantage of the beautiful places our planet has to offer. I’ll be hitting the AT on March 17th to fulfill a dream I’ve had since university (before you were born, btw!) In two years I hope to do some backpacking in the UK. Best of luck on your through hike and I hope to see you on the trail.

    1. Hi Charles, thank you so much for following my travels and for the kind words. It’s fantastic to hear that you will be on the AT… I will be starting just a little bit before you so we will no doubt meet 🙂
